The 31st meeting of the Bureau of the Meeting of the Parties Water Convention took place on 21-22 January 2021 in a hybrid form, both online and through the physical presence at the Palais de Nations in Geneva..

The main objective of the Bureau meeting was to discuss the progress achieved on the global opening of the Convention and implementation of its Strategy, the consideration of the draft programme of work on 2022-2024 years. The meeting participants as well discussed the issues of financing the activities of the Convention, the preparation for the joint session of the Working Group on IWRM, the Working Group on Monitoring and Assessment and the 9th session of the Meeting of the Parties. Finally, the meeting discussion covered progress in the reporting under the Convention and on SDG indicator 6.5.2.

IWAC director Serik Akhmetov gave a presentation on the work of IWAC. He spoke about the progress in the implementation of program of work (PoW) of the International Water Assessment Center in 2019-2021 and the main directions of PoW in 2022-2024.
